Reimagining how Australians search for property.

REV is Australia’s third-largest real estate portal. I led the redesign of how buyers search, compare, and decide.

Map search
Property detail

Australian portals are funded by agents, so we set out to build the first one that answered to buyers instead.

Search results for Abbotsford, with Save Search alongside Sort By
The Save Search dialog, holding the suburb, price range and property type

I led four senior designers through a full rebuild of view.com.au: desktop, mobile web, iOS and Android, from research to national launch in six months.

Suburb price trends
Comparing and saving properties
The aerial map search
Property tile, basic listing
Property tile, coming soon
Property tile, free listing
Property tile, premium listing

Australian listings hide behind price guides and “contact agent.” When we put real prices on the map, buyers stopped guessing.

Search on desktop — the list beside a map where prices sit on the properties themselves

I redesigned the map so prices reveal progressively with zoom, turning a cluttered screen into something buyers could actually read.

Zoomed out: properties as plain dots, with one price shown
Zoomed in: every property showing its weekly price
A property opened from the map
The property view, scrolled

Six months from research to national launch, with app downloads up 909% in the first month. I’m proud of what this team pulled off in that time.

Back to work

Hi, I'm Leandro Varanda

I'm a Senior Product Designer with 10+ years in, worked at startups, agencies, and big tech companies in Brazil, Ireland, and Australia, designing web and mobile products from the ground up.

I like working closely with different teams to build stuff people genuinely enjoy using, and that actually helps the business grow. Lately I've been leaning into AI a lot more, using it to speed up and sharpen my own workflow too.
